Title : Ultra-Low-Power Radios Using Current-Reuse/Function-Reuse/Ultra-Low-Voltage Techniques
Abstract:
Ultra-low-power (ULP) radios are the key element of a wide variety of Internet-of-Things (IoT) products. This lecture starts with the system aspects of different radio architectures, then reviews the pros and cons of different state-of-the-art ULP RF techniques such as current-reuse, function-reuse and ultra-low-voltage. Their suitability for different single-/multi-band standards such as Bluetooth Low Energy, ZigBee and NB-IoT will also be discussed. Toward self-powering by the environments, the opportunity of using energy-harvesting sources such as thermal, light and vibration will also be presented. State-of-the-art industrial radios will serve as the basis to underline the current achievements and project the future challenges.
