Prof. Jun Han’s research lab (CyPhy) published and presented a paper in ACM UbiComp 2022/IMWUT, a top-tier conference in ubiquitous/mobile computing.
Under the supervision of Prof. Han, his Ph.D. student, Nitya Lakshmanan (former Ph.D. students at NUS, now Lecturer at NUS) led this project.
This paper proposes a novel attack to infer what videos victims are streaming on their phone – from services like Youtube and Netflix  – by monitoring the cellular network, hence does not require any malware installed on the victim’s phone.
