- Prof. Chae's research team, a paper on 50m-Range CMOS Lidar is accepted in IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits (JSSC)
- Mr. Byungchoul Park, Ph.D candidate in the research team of Prof. Youngcheol Chae, developed a 50m range CMOS lidar sensor with a depth precision of 10cm at max distance. This result was accepted in the prestigious IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits (JSSC).

- Dr. Jean Y Song, appointed as Asst. Professor of DGIST, Information and Communication Engineering
- A graduate of Image & Information Lab (Prof. Yoonsik Choe), Dr. Jean Y. Song (2009, 2011: Bachelor, Master from Yonsei Univ., 2019: Ph.D from Univ. of Michigan, Ann Arbor) is appointed as Assistant Professor of DGIST, Information and Communication Engineering, starting from 2nd semester of 2021. Recently she has worked as Research Assist. Prof. at School of Computing, KAIST. Her main research interest is in HCI and she studied on ‘Improving AI performance by Aggregation of Crowdsourcing Data’ for her Ph.D degree.

- Prof. Yoonsik Choe (Image & Information LAB) transfers 7 patents related to High definition Video Compression techniques (2 Domestic, 5 U.S.A.’s) to a patent management company, ‘Idea Hub’ on May 13th, 2021. managed by Yonsei University, University Industry Foundation. Technical transfer includes Patent transfer, 150million won for pre-payment, and additional 50% of running royalty for over 150million won pre-paid fee to Yonsei University Industry Foundation.

- Prof. Sangyoun Lee received the“Best Research Award”
- Based on selecting researchers with outstanding research achievements leading the world, Prof. Sangyoun Lee won the “Best Research Award” in the college of engineering, selected by Yonsei University’s administrative department. Prof. Sangyoun Lee is in charge of the AI Research Center at Yonsei University, and has been conducting more than 20 research projects with companies and government agencies over the past four years. - DSP&AI Lab was chosen for an international collaborative research program supported by Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA) in Beijing, China and will be researching deep learning-based acoustic echo cancellation topic with the Speech Group researchers in MSRA for the next year. Especially, this research will provide a chance to work as an international intern in MSRA for a certain period.

- A Study on Text-to-Speech paper by Professor Hong-Goo Kang's Research Team was accepted to INTERSPEECH 2021
- A paper written by a DSP&AI research team led by Professor Hong-Goo Kang was accepted to INTERSPEECH 2021, which is one of the top conferences in the speech processing area. The title of paper is “LiteTTS: A Decoder-free Light-weight Text-to-wave Synthesis Based on Generative Adversarial Networks”, led by Huu-Kim Nguyen and was collaborated with one of the top speech research teams in Korea, Naver Clova Voice.
