세미나 제목 : Research and development on monolithic III-V/Si Mach-Zehnder modulators for Si Photonics

내용 : Si Photonics is considered as the most promising key technology to meet the requirement on ever-increasing data transmission capacity in data centers and high-performance computing systems. IMEC Si Photonics technology has been remarkably contributing not only to pioneering researches but also delivering it to industries, as one of the main players. In this talk, I will present recent research and development on device improvement of a Si-based on Mach-Zehnder modulator, which is one of the most important building blocks in an optical transceiver. Two approaches of introducing Si PN vertical junction and monolithic III-V technologies for next-generation Si photonics will be discussed.
