세미나 제목 : Multi-Parametric Structural Mapping in the Context of Cognitive Control

A primary focus of imaging research at the Technische Universitaet Dresden is Volition and Cognitive Control. Topics such as impulsive behaviors, addictions, and self-control failures are studied with both functional and structural imaging techniques, genetics, and neuropsychological tests. This seminar will focus on findings and future plans with respect to structural imaging. Cortical thickness and diffusion data will be presented for anorexia nervosa, which is regarded as a model of pathologically elevated self-control. A new study will be introduced which seeks to include additional structural image contrasts at our center with the aim of enhancing the specificity of structural findings. A key quantity in this regard is the myelin volume fraction. Relevant contrasts in this regard are magnetization transfer and quantitative T2 imaging, which will be introduced.
