The trend of modern computation society is the transition from Matrix-based to Tensor-based computation. The Kronecker product is a bridge between Matrix- and Tensor-based computations. The Kirchhoffs laws formulated in the Cartesian coordinate system involve the tensor computation, and their corresponding power balance equations are formulated at each node. Combined with the nodal expression rather than a system-wide expression, the nonlinear nature of power balance equation makes it difficult to perform a power flow analysis. The application of the Kronecker product integrates individual equations into a system-wide expression, which leads to the conversion from the nodal expression to a least-square problem. With the integration of a statistical approach, we propose a new method to formulate and to solve stochastic power flow problems. We tested this power flow approach using the Kronecker product on IEEE model systems.
