Prof. Tae Wook Kim’s research team developed a new modulation scheme, ER-DPSK, for IR-UWB communication, achieving 3.25 Gbps and 0.76 pJ/bit in the transmitter.
This represents the world’s first 3 Gbps-class UWB and the world’s first transmitter to break 1 pJ/bit limit.
The work is scheduled to be presented at the VLSI 2026 (June, Hawaii).
This research was supervised by Prof. Tae Wook Kim (corresponding author), and led by first author Donggun Lee, a master’s student.
