Seong-Lyun Kim’s (Robotics and Mobile Networks Lab, RAMO) paper “Towards Semantic Communication Protocols: A Probabilistic Logic Approach” has been accepted from IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communication (IF: 13.08) Special Issue on Beyond Shannon Communication: A Paradigm Shift to Catalyze 6G. This pioneering work for 6G proposes a method to transform learned protocol models (NPM) into symbolic versions (SPM) that are fast, compact, and explainable, by utilizing the model’s architecture and generative outputs.
The work was led by Sejin Seo and Seong-Lyun Kim (Yonsei Univ.), in cooperation with Jihong Park and Jinho Choi (Deakin Univ.), Seung-Woo Ko (Inha Univ.), and Mehdi Bennis (Oulu Univ.).
