세미나 제목 : Qualification and condition monitoring of safety related instrumentation and control cables of nuclear power plants

내용 :

The safe operation of nuclear facilities is based on that the information and control (I&C) cables have to be capable to fulfil their safety function even during design-based event (DBE). It is the role of qualification to ensure that the cable can be demonstrated to perform as specified performance requirements during normal and DBE environment. The nuclear cable qualification is mainly based on accelerated laboratory tests, which is usually performed by cable manufactures according to the standards. However, these examinations have been used for decades, the relationship between the accelerated ageing and the ageing at operation conditions is still in the focus of scientific interest. The background of accelerated ageing tests is that by increasing of the intensity of stressors (temperature, voltage, dose-rate etc.), the time of the ageing test can be reduced. Recent studies have revealed several phenomena (diffusion limited oxidation, inverse temperature effect etc.), which lessen the reliability of these examinations. Hence, the condition monitoring of the safety related cables is the important aspect of the long term operation of nuclear power plants.
