◎ 초청자: 전기전자공학과 김동현A 교수

◎ 초록:

- Active plasmonics, distinct from conventional static plasmonics, is a sub-field of plasmonics, which involves dynamic control of surface plasmon resonance. Plasmonic color is widely employed not only in research but in daily life, from nanoantenna in the single-molecule study to stained glass windows in churches. These plasmonic colors can be produced by using plasmonic nanoparticles, e.g. gold nanospheres. The relationship between the plasmonic colors and the properties of these plasmonic nanoparticles, e.g. size, shape, and choice of materials, have been well studied.

On the other hand, DNA is a versatile material for building complex, yet controllable, 3D nanostructures, through self-assembly of DNA strands. This technology, i.e. DNA origami, gives different forms and features to nanostructures. This talk will present how DNA nanotechnology supports the field of active plasmonics, in particular, how the DNA nanotechnology approach can be applied in versatile and sustainable nanofabrication of active plasmonic nanostructures. It will cover the accurate positioning and dynamic geometric control of plasmonic nanomaterials, e.g. plasmonic lattices, and switches, with DNA origami. It will also discuss their potential downstream applications and devices, including colormetric biosensing, smart plasmonic display.
