"Research on 5G Mobile Communication Technology for Virtual Reality between Mobile Systems" by Professor Kim Sung-Rin of Yonsei University was selected as a project to be newly supported by the Korea-EU Joint Research Project in 2018-2020. This project will be jointly promoted by the academic institutions of Korea and Europe in connection with the technology of the 5th generation mobile communication system. The goal of this research is to construct an end-to-end 5G system that provides realistic image services to moving objects, research and development of mmWave access, 5G core network and artificial intelligence supported communication technology, and construction and exhibition of intercontinental testbed. The study will be supported by a total of KRW 2.4 billion and will be held for three years from June 2018.
