Prof. Kyeon Hur and his former Ph.D. student, now an assistant professor at Inje University, Prof. Shim’s paper, titled “Harmonious Integration of Faster-Acting Energy Storage Systems into Frequency Control Reserves in Power Grid with High Renewable Generation” has been accepted for publication in IEEE trans. on power systems (IF: 5.680, Top 6%  in EE category of JCR). Their control scheme should help integrate more renewables into grid without compromising the grid stability. Prof. Shim was the first Ph.D. recipient from a joint Ph.D program between Yonsei U and Sydney U. Prof. Verbic (Sydney U, Australia) and Prof. Zhang (Tsinghua U, China) joined in this research.
