In this talk, I will mainly introduce R&D activities in Fujitsu Labs and PETRA national project on semiconductor optical waveguide devices for Telecom and Datacom applications. In the first part, I will briefly show several kinds of optical functional devices for Telecom applications such as optical switching devices, tunable filters, tunable lasers, optical hybrid mixers for coherent detections, WDM optical demultiplexers etc. In the second part, I will be focused on talking about silicon photonics technologies for high density Datacom applications.
