정종문 교수 연구팀은 2017년 12월호 IEEE Wireless Communications 에 LTE-R (LTE를 위한 철도 무선통신망)을 위한 핸드오버 기술 논문을 출판하였다. 출판된 기술은 LTE-R 네트워크에서의 디바이스 이동 성능을 크게 높일 수 있는 기술이다. IEEE Wireless Communications 학술지는 통신, 전기전자, 정보통신, 하드웨어 4개 분야 모두에서 상위 1~3% 이내에 드는 세계 최고 수준의 학술지로 Impact Factor는 8.972 이다.
